Chiropractic Malpractice Is On The Rise

There are a lot of people who seek chiropractic care on a regular basis.  In fact, many people will go to a chiropractor for their problems before they will go to a medical doctor.  This isn't to say that a chiropractor does not have his place in your treatment at times and many people have had wonderful results by visiting their chiropractor but caution should always be taken.  Just as you would never put your life into the hand of your doctor without questioning what was going on, you certainly should not accept everything that you're chiropractor is saying as gospel.  This is how many chiropractic malpractice suits get started.

A classic example of this is when somebody would go to a chiropractor because they were having problems with their feet.  They chiropractor would, more than likely, go through their regular routine that they learned in school.  This might include checking them for their spine being out of alignment or perhaps for a problem in their hips.  One thing that they may not do is actually checked the feet that are having a problem, thinking that it is resonating from another part of the body.  After several sessions of chiropractic care, the person with the foot problem would suddenly realize that something is horribly wrong.  They seek medical attention but it is too late, their foot would need to be amputated.  Things similar to this do happen on a regular basis and by and large, are the main source of chiropractic malpractice suits that are in the courts now.

Here's another example, although it was not allowed to get to the point where chiropractic malpractice became an issue.  My mother-in-law was suffering a lot with pain in her back and throughout various parts of her body.  She was going to a chiropractor that she had gone to for many years and after a few sessions was still in the same type of pain that she was in when she started.  The chiropractor realized that there was nothing he could do and that the situation was actually worse than what he had thought at first.  He recommended that she go see a medical professional and sure enough, she had cancer and it needed to be treated medically, not with chiropractic care.

Chiropractic Malpractice

As long as people are having a difficult time with aches and pains they will seek out chiropractic care as a way of healing it.  There are times whenever this type of care actually does help the individual and it should not be overlooked as a form of alternate treatment.  If something is seriously wrong, however, medical help may need to be looked into so that further problems do not come about as a result.  Not only will you be helping yourself by not allowing yourself to get sicker while under alternative care, you're chiropractor will avoid a certain chiropractic malpractice suit that would happen as a result of his negligence.

I had a similar experience with my chiropractor. But instead of suing him, I just found another chiropractor. There are plenty of good and honest chiropractors out there who know what they can and can not heal. So yes, some of these doctors are quacks and snake oil salesmen. But there are some good ones out there that really can help. Seek out advise and recommendations from friends and neighbors. Good luck.

I had a quack of a chiropractor tell me he could heal all my problems. Well all he did was crack my neck and hurt my back. I felt worse than before I went to see him. So now I think I should sue him. Where can I find a lawyer to sue and what do I need to do? Can you provide me more info?

Accounting Malpractice

By Kevin Stith
Accounting malpractice happens when the accountant or any accounting professional becomes negligent of his duties. Professional institutes establish a list of standard of care that must be met to protect others from the risks of harm and deceit and when these legally established standards of care are not met, it can sometimes be considered negligence.
